According to News360 Nigeria, well-known Nigerian internet personality Bobrisky has filed a ₦1 billion lawsuit against social media influencer VeryDarkMan.
The main thrust of the case is that VeryDarkMan published a voice recording that it claimed was produced by artificial intelligence (AI) and misattributed it to Bobrisky.
Bobrisky gave VeryDarkMan a 24-hour ultimatum in a statement, requesting that the claims be withdrawn and a public apology be made. Bobrisky warned that noncompliance would result in more legal action.
Bobrisky's legal team has stated that they are confident in their case, pointing out that the propagation of the AI-generated content was motivated by defamation and ill intent.
This legal dispute is a part of Bobrisky's continuous efforts to defend her reputation and stop the internet spread of misinformation.
