2Baba was born to Mr. and Mrs. Idibia on September 18, 1975, in Jos plateau state, Nigeria, he grew up in his native town, Benue station. 2baba is from the Idoma ethnic group.
2baba attended Mount Saint Gabriel’s secondary school in Markurdi, Benue state. After his primary and secondary education, he went further to study a preliminary National Diploma course in business administration and management at Institute of Management & Technology, Enugu State, Nigeria. 2baba formerly known or referred to as 2face started composing and singing jingles at GB fan club in 1996. He adopted his stage name.”2face” (Tuface) in 1996.
After dropping out of school, the African queen crooner moved to Lagos and started performing with Blackface, whom he met during his secondary school education. He formed the defunct plantashun boiz group with Blackface and Faze. The music group released two successful albums: Body and Soul and Sold out before disbanding in 2004. They came back together for their third and final album “Plan. B” in 2007.
After the disbandment of plantashun boiz, 2baba released his debut album.”Face 2 Face” in 2004. He released his second album. “Grass 2 Grace” in 2006, the album had hit songs like 4 instance, One love, true love.
2baba formed his record label. Hypertek Digital after his exit from Kennis Music. He officially changed his name from 2Face to 2baba in 2016.
